What does an RF Design Engineer at VerizonWireless do?

These engineers design how the wireless cell site will propogate the signal based on:
location, antenna design, height of tower, surrounding terrain and rf power link budgets.

Engineers based on their knowledge of how radio frequency interacts with the surrounding elements(foliage, hills, buildings etc.) will design the cell site to maximize the level of rf power to the desired area of coverage.

Verizon Wireless employs CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) Technology which allows multiple users to share the same frequency at the same time.
In addition to offering CDMA technology to provide superior voice and data quality, Verizon Wireless is working on introducing LTE or Long Term Evolution data technology. This technology will allow customers to experience extremely high download and upload data speeds.

As you can see, wireless cell sites can be disguised as trees and cacti!
